2005 Cuttie-Thon
Zac Sexton and his English Setter, Mojo, completed the first-ever Cuttie-Thon at just after 4 p.m. MST, Friday, Sept. 22, 2005. After more than 34 1/2 hours of fishing, Zac and Mojo crossed the finish line delirious and elated.
Check out the press release about Zac’s first Cuttie-Thon.
A special thanks goes out to Zac’s parents, Tom and Tricia. They were
his backbone, helping along most of the route. Thanks also to everyone
who has donated. It means a lot to the Yellowstone ecosystem and to diabetics
the world over!
The Cuttie-thon Foundation is still taking donations and will be raffling
donated goods soon. Zac will be giving presentations across the country
to several diabetes and conservation groups. Please contact Zac if you’d
like to schedule him to give an inspirational and informative presentation
about the Cuttie-thon to your group. They hope to raise more than $40,000
to distribute to several non-profit organizations. With your help they
can!
Sexton, a type I diabetic, sees this event as a great way to show others
it is possible to live an exciting and meaningful life with a possibly
debilitating disease. Sexton will be donating funds to the Children’s
Diabetes Foundation, which funds the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood
Diabetes, where he goes for annual check-ups. Those funds will aide the
center with several projects to help diabetics live better lives.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will also be receiving funds
from Sexton and Well’s efforts. The JDRF will use the funds for projects
researching a cure for diabetes. To see more on the JDRF visit: www.jdrf.org.
